You get the feeling Moya made the plot up as he went along. Dance with Snakes was one of the most entertaining books I’ve read this year, and as I mentioned previously, it was one of the weirdest, after The Obscene Bird of Night.
I don’t want to use the spoilers tool on here, so I’ll try not to reveal what happens in the bread parts — let’s just say that the first part reminded me of Kobo Abe’s The Box Man and the middle parts and some of the ending reminded me of other Nutso Sensationalist Entertainments Suggestive of Deeper Significance I’ve read recently, like Torsten Krol’s The Dolphin People: Open Preview See a Problem?
